FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I pick up my bib and t-shirt?
5K registrations include event t-shirt, bib, and bag. They can be picked up in the Literacy office at Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave, 10-3, Friday, May 10th or 7am before the race.

Can someone else pick up my bib for me?
Of course! Just send a copy of your ID and your signed waiver along with a friend.

Do kids need to register/pay to run the 5K?
Yes, everyone must pay and register for their race regardless of age.

What is the charge for the Kid's Run?
$10.00. This charge includes a finisher medal. Early registration helps us with the medal count when ordering.

Is the 5K a paved course?

Yes and no. The run/walk 5k is a mixed terrain course of pavement and dirt trail. It is a fun course, but those of you with strollers be advised: you may be “off-roading” for short parts of the course!

Can I run or walk with a baby jogger or stroller?

Baby joggers and strollers are permitted and encouraged!

Are there refunds?

No. We plan the race based on the number of registered runners. So once you have registered, we cannot offer you a refund. If, however, you register and do not run, you may still pick up your race packet and t-shirt and join us in other fun for the day.

Can I run with headphones or earbuds?

Yes. The 5K is a mix of pavement and dirt. Just please be mindful of your surroundings as the course is on uneven terrain.

Are walkers allowed?

Yes, we love to see walkers and strongly encourage them.

Will there be bag-check facility?

No, there is no bag check. However, parking is close to the start.

Will there be water stations?

Yes, there will be two water stations along the course.

Where will the race start?
The race will begin near the eastern end of the lake at Huntington Central Park near Kathy May’s Lakeview Café. Look for the balloon arch!

Where do I park?

The best place to park is in the lot on Central Park Drive. You can also park in the lot directly in front of Central Park Drive.
There is also extensive parking at the Huntington Beach Library across the street.  Please DO NOT park in Kathy May’s Lakeview Café lot (directly in front of the restaurant). And, as always, we encourage everyone to carpool. See parking map on "Home" & “Registration & Info” page.
